The Process

If you would like to be considered for a scholarship, interested residents may download the application (here) and submit a signed version with all the supporting documents noted below. Applications may also be obtained at The O’Connell Branch Library, Kennedy-Longfellow School, The Office of City Councillor Tim Toomey and The East End House. The deadline for the scholarship application and all supporting documentation is April 15th of each year.

Scholarships are paid directly to the institution to which the applicant has been accepted and applicants may re-apply each year.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

Must be a resident of East Cambridge (All ages may apply);

Must be a High School graduate or;

Must be attending or have received admittance to an accredited educational institution beyond the high school level.


Funds for Higher Education

Applicants who are in need of financial aid for Two-Year or Four-Year colleges and universities are encouraged to apply.

Our awards are not limited to just applicants of traditional colleges and universities. Technical schools and vocational programs provide a multitude of courses that can help you pursue the certification or degree you may need to move forward in your chosen field.

Whether you are interested in specialized technical training or just concerned with staying current on the latest technology, we welcome your application.

The ECSF began in 1989 and has been going strong ever since. Fun Fact: One of our board members has been on the team for all of those 30 years!

Annual operating Expenses

As a non-profit we are only able to operate on the donations we receive. We pride ourselves in utilizing only 0.2% of the endowment for our operations cost.
